Latest News:
Thanks to all who
helped us on the picket line during PBTs performances of The Nutcracker
in December:
-
Fellow musicians, especially members of the Pittsburgh Symphony
Orchestra
-
Members of other unions
-
Friends of
Live Music
-
Student musicians and faculty of the High School for the
Creative and Performing Arts
And most importantly,
thanks to the members of the PBT audience who voiced their support of live
music to the musicians on the picket lines. We know you want live music
to accompany the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Please let PBT know that
YOU WANT AND DESERVE LIVE MUSIC AT THE
BALLET! Feedback from the ticket-buying audience is the
strongest support the musicians can present to PBT in trying to get the
orchestra restored for the rest of the 2005-06 season and beyond.
Stayed tuned to this
site for new information as it becomes available.
The musicians of the PBT
Orchestra have just spent a sad holiday season picketing in front of the
Benedum Center instead of performing inside for the artists and patrons of
the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. The words of encouragement spoken to the
musicians, and the emails, calls and letters of support sent to this site
and to the management of the PBT, have helped get us through a difficult
time. With ongoing support of the audience, we will continue to work to
restore live music to PBT.
